Counting Your Blessings & Changing Your Focus

Our perception of the world around us creates the world we live in. When we focus on the negative we only give it energy to grow and even invade other areas of our life. You might be surprised to find that you have so many wonderful things that occur in your life daily, that you have overlooked by concentrating on the negative.

For changing your focus I recommend simply journaling the treasures found in everyday life. You don't even need a fancy new journal, a plain spiral notebook will work just fine.

What kind of things should you write down daily? Anything good!

Ganesh Pocket Leather Journal w/ Side Button Closure- Receiving a compliment
- Having someone hold the door for you.
- A phone call from a friend
- Something funny one of your kids said
- A smooth commute to work
- Finding or receiving money in any amount
- Gifts and unexpected nice surprises

It doesn't matter as long as you view it as something good. When you shift your focus to the good you aren't just looking at life different, you are raising the positive energy that surrounds you and in turn will attract more blessings each and everyday.

Raising Your Deserve Level - Focus on Yourself

"Why not me?"  This is a common question many people ask themselves.  Often times we look around and see on the surface what other people have and it becomes a frustration that festers.  As we concentrate on what others have and what we lack, we manifest more lack in our own lives. As a result, we begin to feel less than and that can lead to depression and health problems.

In order to have a prosper and healthy life we need to concentrate on our own lives, which made me think of The 10th Commandment, which states:  Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor’s.

Begin today being thankful for all the things you do have, when thoughts of envy or wonder about what others have say to yourself, "cancel, cancel, cancel".  Don't compare what you have to what others have, begin to know that God is the provider of all things and that He does not discriminate!  "Before they call, I will answer" - Isaiah 65:24  God already has more blessings for you than you can possibly imagine.  Know that you deserve them, accept them as yours and expect them.

I deserve, accept and except all the wonderful blessings that God already has for me.

Gratitude is The Antidepressant

You know that you can change the way you are feeling in just minutes! Even better not only is it fast, it's free!

All too often we give way too much attention to the things in life that aren't good.  Whether it's debt or a relationship problem with a friend, family or even a coworker.  Think about that?  Why? Why would we allow ourselves to waste our precious time on this planet to think about things or people that we don't feel good about. Those things and people will always be a part of our lives but we don't have to give them our time and energy.

You can change your life right now, right this minute by choosing to give less of your time and energy those negative situations and/or people by beginning to focus on the good and wonderful things you have in your life.  What are you truly grateful for?  Be honest with yourself! Feel the feeling of how blessed you really are.  Start thinking of all the wonderful people and things in your life.  No Eeyores allowed! It doesn't work if you moan out, I'm grateful for my family.  No!  You have to feel it and know in your heart how precious life is how wonderful the things you have are.

There are opportunities to be grateful at every turn.

Make a list start with loved ones, mentors, then move onto things.  They don't have to be things that are big. Yes, I'm thankful for my home and I feel so blessed but there are those little things in life to be grateful for also. Things that we overlook when we are too consumed with the negative.  I start my day with being oh so grateful for the hot shower I'm taking.  Thank God for the people that came before me that invented and built the means by which I enjoy that warm soothing moment every morning! Ahhh!

Start now making the list and you will be amazed how quickly you will feel uplifted!  This comes with lasting benefits as well because the more you are thankful, the more you will have to be thankful for.
